Romania’s competition authority said it will look into the recent takeover by Ade Gas Oil Company of some assets owned by its associates Azalis, Eurogenetic and Dolchimex.

„In order to determine the level of concentration compatible with a normal competitive environment, the competition authority will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation,” the Competition Council said in a statement.

Through the transaction, Ade Gas Oil aims to consolidate its wholesale liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) business by taking over some assets and employees from the three companies.

Ade Gas Oil is a Romanian company established in 2010 and based in Caracal, Olt county. Caracal-based Azalis was founded in 2002 and is active in LPG distribution. Currently, Azalis sells fuel through a network of 60 distribution stations.

Eurogenetic is a company with 20 years experience in the distribution, transport and delivery of diesel, petrol and LPG. Starting 2011, it operates a warehouse at Craiova Airport, providing necessary fuel for all aircraft that take off and land at the airport, according to seenews.com.

Dolchimex was established in 2001 in Caracal and focuses on the wholesale trade of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels as well as of derived products.
