The government program envisages the concession of three perimeters for the development of offshore electricity production projects, and for the investor two things must be clear from the beginning, namely the conditions of the concession and the possibility of transporting the produced energy to shore, declared the Minister of Energy, Dumitru Chisăliță.
“The list of perimeters that can be concessioned was approved by Government Decision no. 664/2026, and the rules for concession, royalties and taxes were approved by Government Decision no. 688/2026. The government program envisages three perimeters, with a potential of approximately 3,100 MW. The path from the designation of a perimeter to production goes through the award of the concession, wind measurements and seabed studies, environmental impact assessment, connection design and investment decision. For the investor, two things must be clear early on: the conditions of the concession and the possibility of transporting the produced energy to shore. The date of a procedure or the first production must be reported to the official calendar of each stage”, explained Chisăliță, quoted by Agerpres.
The Minister also spoke about the Electric Transmission Network Development Plan for the period 2026-2035, developed by Transelectrica and approved by ANRE, emphasizing that it provides for investments of over 12 billion lei, which include 117 works, of which 25 are new objectives.
“The program aims to modernize existing power lines and stations, develop the 400 kV network, increase transmission and interconnection capacity, as well as digitalize the infrastructure. The investments aim to strengthen the safety and flexibility of the National Power System, facilitate the integration of new production and storage capacities, especially from renewable sources, and ensure the transport of electricity in safe and reliable conditions,” the Minister of Energy stated.
