Issue 49 of Energynomics Magazine was launched on Thursday, December 4, and is available online, free of charge, along with all previous issues. 184 pages of interviews, analyses, and strategic perspectives on Romania’s energy sector are now accessible to readers—a new comprehensive volume that captures how the energy sector is evolving at an accelerated pace and entering a stage of visible maturation.

The Q4/2025 edition marks an important moment: for the first time, Romania is entering the new year with major projects simultaneously under construction at all levels—renewables, nuclear, gas, networks, storage. The transition is becoming palpable, and the voices of key industry players are coming together in a coherent conversation about priorities, risks, and strategic directions. In a few weeks, the print edition will reach, as usual, professionals in the sector, decision-makers, and leaders of the most active companies.

In this edition, we revisit some of the topics that will decisively mark 2026: the massive investments needed for balancing, pressure on networks, the return of gas to the forefront of the energy mix, the acceleration of nuclear projects, the emergence of a new wave of wind power capacity, and the entry into the market of the largest solar projects ever built in Romania. All of these are viewed in an integrated framework, with an emphasis on legislative continuity, technological modernization, and the need for confidence at a sensitive economic moment.

    Some ideas

The interview with Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Energy, opens the magazine with a message focused on balance and responsibility. The minister talks about transition “on realistic grounds,” with accelerated investments in strip mining, storage, and nuclear energy. He also explains why 2026 will be the year when Romania will see the first results of the recalibration of public policies — from accelerated European funds to strategic projects such as Mintia, Tarnița-Lăpuștești, or the refurbishment of Unit 1 at Cernavodă. Marian Pavel, General Manager of Rezolv Energy Romania, marks the decisive threshold that Romanian wind power will cross in 2026, with the start of construction of new generation projects. He describes the maturation of the sector and how investments are becoming possible in the context of a more predictable framework. READ MORE!

Adrian Stan, founder of AJ Brand, explains through the AJ NEXTE project how Romania can transition from “megawatts to manageable energy.” It is one of the most articulate messages about the need for technological integration, digitization, and balancing solutions at a time when the growth of renewables is putting increasing pressure on grids and system flexibility. The list of major contributors also includes other voices that play a central role in the market, including Sanda Abrudan (UniCredit Bank), Ondrej Šafář (Distribuție Oltenia), Cosmin Ghiță (Nuclearelectrica), Jens Rasmussen (Eurowind Energy), Zsuzsa Bereschi (EY), Radu G. Magdin (Smartlink), and Daniel Apostol (FPE). Each brings essential analysis and direction to a sector undergoing rapid transformation and increasingly dependent on stability, investment, and expertise.

We maintain the integrated structure of the magazine, with sections dedicated to the main segments of the industry: public policy, renewables, natural gas, nuclear, digitization, energy efficiency, distribution, and electric mobility. Each article contributes to an overall picture: a system that is modernizing, still uneven, but with unprecedented momentum.
