21 candidates for ANRE leadership; four of them are favorites in the vote announced for Wednesday

PSD Deputy Dumitru Chiriţă was voted in the Parliament’s specialized committees for a five-year mandate as Chairman of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE).

Zoltan Nagy-Bege was proposed for the position of deputy Chairman and Gabriel Gheorghe and Cornelia Sulger were voted for the position of member in the ANRE’s regulatory committee.

The proposals of the joint committees will be put to the vote in the plenary session on Wednesday.

“The fact is that [the new team] is starting in very difficult conditions, because there are many regulations to be implemented, and it is a confusing and very unclear situation in the electricity market, as well as in the future gas market,” said Iulian Iancu, Chairman of the Commission of Industries and Services of the Chamber of Deputies, on Monday, at the end of the public hearings, according to Agerpres.

The Economic, Industry and Service Commission in the Senate and the Industry and Services Committee in the Chamber of Deputies discussed on Monday with the candidates who submitted their CVs for the positions of Chairman, vice-Chairman and member of ANRE’s Regulatory Committee.

Niculae Havrileț, Emil Calotă, Zoltan Nagy-Bege, Gheorghe Barbu, Mihai Albulescu, Marian Cernat, Mihai Râmniceanu, Honorel Soreață, Dumitru Chiriță, Luminița Lupului, Radu Cosmin Bădiță, Corina Murafa, Gabriela Moroianu, Mihai Nicolae Cătălin, Florin Rădoi, Radu Mircea Ion, Sorin Adrian Vasilescu, Gabriel Gheorghe, Marius Sorin Bota, Dănuț Andrușcă, Camelia Sulger and Crum Mitricof expressed their interest in occupying these positions.

On October 22, the mandates of four of the seven members of the ANRE’s Regulatory Committee expire; these are currently occupied by Niculae Havrileţ (Chairman), Emil Calotă (vice-Chairman), Zoltan Nagy-Bege and Gheorghe Barbu (members).
