Leading professionals with in-depth knowledge of Romania’s energy industry once again make up the Jury of the 14th edition of the energy awards presented by Energynomics. The winners will be decided on 16 November, under a voting system improved on previous editions.
Nominations will be assessed by leaders and experts representing public authorities, academia, international financial institutions, the capital market, professional associations and consulting firms:
- Vasile Iuga, Valorem Business Advisors
- Radu Hanga, Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB)
- Mihai Drăghici, EY Romania
- Cristian Nacu, International Finance Corporation (IFC)
- Mihaela Mihăilescu, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
- Corneliu Bodea, Romanian Energy Center (CRE)
- Radu Bădiță, ANRE
- Diana Robescu, Faculty of Energy Engineering, Polytechnic University of Bucharest
- Varinia Radu, Energynomics
Jurors assess each nomination against the category criteria and three principles: success (demonstrable results), impact (measurable effects on the energy sector, the community or the economy) and innovation. These are the criteria by which the Energynomics Awards have recognised performance in energy since the first edition, in 2013.
Jurors rank every nomination instead of picking a favourite
In 2026, each juror ranks all the nominations in a category. In a category with eight nominations, the project ranked first receives 8 points and the one ranked last receives one point. One highest and one lowest score are then removed for each nomination, to limit the influence of extreme votes, and the rest are added up. In the event of a tie, the Jury decides by an additional vote, limited to the tied nominations.
A company or organisation can receive no more than one award per edition, including through individual awards given to people who work for that organisation at the time of nomination. If the same organisation comes first in several categories, it keeps the award where its winning margin is largest, and in the other categories the award goes to the next eligible nomination.
A winning project cannot be entered in the same category for the next two editions. Projects that won in 2025 can return to the same category only in 2028. Each nomination competes in a single category.
To enter the competition, gain exposure and, why not, win one of the awards, fill in the online form by 10:30 on 9 November 2026.
From nomination to Gala
Nominations are collected from 15 October to 9 November 2026, and entry is free. A nomination can come from the nominee, from their company or from anyone else. The files reach the jurors on 10 November, the first assessment ends on 13 November, when jurors may request additional information, and on 16 November the Jury meets to deliberate and vote.
Between 9 and 24 November, we will present the nominations on energynomics.ro, in articles dedicated to each competition category. Only one project wins in each category, but every initiative is presented to the energy community as an example of good practice.
The winners will be officially announced and honoured at the 2026 Energynomics Awards Gala on 25 November 2026, at the National Military Circle in Bucharest. Entering the competition does not include access to the Gala, which is arranged separately.
Now in its 14th edition, the Energynomics Awards project brings to the fore the projects, deals and people that are changing Romania’s energy sector. The awards are symbolic and carry no financial reward, but they publicly recognise performance in front of the energy business community.
