16 oil and gas companies open dialogue for the future of Romanian O&G industry

Romanian Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association – ROPEPCA have been officialy launched with a Open Media Day.

“Our mission is providing a unitary position for the onshore Upstream oil and gas sector in Romania as well as increasing the awareness on the industry and its importance in terms of positive effects on the economy and job creation”, Tom Holst, president ROPEPCA, said.

At their first meeting with the press, some of the association’ members provided details about ROPEPCA’s objectives, about the members’ activities and the prospects of the oil and gas industry in Romania.

Romanian Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association, is comprised of 16 members, all holding petroleum concession agreements concluded with the Romanian state, both for exploration and development-production blocks.

ROPEPCA was founded in November 2012 to strengthen the onshore Upstream oil and gas sector in Romania and its relationships by working closely with state, government, regional and local authorities, agencies, the general public, and all key stakeholders. The association gathers important active players from Romanian Exploration and Production industry and is aimed at the same goal, a transparent working environment to the highest standards and latest technology.

Currently ROPEPCA holds the majority of all the Onshore Concession blocks in Romania and represents a current potential investment of 630 million USD.
