E.ON Energie Romania and the Vâlcea company Don Pedro, one of the largest players on the tissue paper market in the country, decided to develop the partnership signed last year for the development of a system for generating electricity through photovoltaic panels, reaching a value of over 630,000 euro.

Within the partnership between the two companies, E.ON is building a photovoltaic power plant for Don Pedro, which it will turn over and which has as its main objective the production of electricity using solar energy. The plant will allow Don Pedro to provide by own means a large part of the electricity needed to obtain paper-based sanitary products.

“The partnership between E.ON and Don Pedro shows first and foremost the commitment of both companies to a cleaner environment. By choosing our solution, E.ON Photovoltaic, Don Pedro will reduce CO2 emissions by over 240 tons per year and will also benefit from an independent and more economical energy supply,” said Cătălin Iordache, General Manager, E. ON Energie Romania.

The Photovoltaic Power Plant includes solar energy systems that will be mounted on the roofs of the 10 buildings of Don Pedro’s production unit, located in Ruda, Budești village in Vâlcea County and will produce a total of 767 MWh per year, representing 25-30 % of the company’s total energy needs. Assembly work began this month.
