Global revenue from the wind turbine market is projected at US$ 86.4 Billion in 2025 and has been blunt to existing at a CAGR of 9.8% to extent US$ 174.8 Billion by the end of 2034, says a new report by For Insights Consultancy.

The wind turbine market is booming, primarily driven by the increasing worldwide demand for clean energy sources. Among the main factors causing the expansion of the wind turbine market is the increasing attention to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the shift to a more sustainable energy mix. In order to stimulate the use of wind energy, governments are setting up policies and giving different kinds of support, which, in turn, is a great impetus for the growth of the market, say the authors.

Besides that, the technological advances have a very important share in the escalation of the wind turbine market. Technological breakthrough such as larger rotor diameters, higher efficiency, and usage of more sophisticated control systems are some of the ways by which the performance of wind turbine units is being propelled.

Declining generation costs, supportive policies, and expanding onshore and offshore projects are driving demand. Ongoing technological improvements and the rise of offshore and floating wind installations continue to strengthen long-term growth prospects despite supply chain and regulatory challenges.

Wind power continues to play a central role in the global energy transition, supported by large-scale installations, technology advancements, and expanding offshore and onshore projects. Leading wind turbine manufacturers are strengthening performance, reliability, and long-term service capabilities across regions.

Top 10 Global Wind Turbine Companies (2025)

    1.  Goldwind (China) – Large-capacity onshore and offshore turbine systems with strong domestic scale.
    2.  Envision Energy (China) – Integrated renewable turbines supported by digital wind platforms.
    3.  Vestas (Denmark) – Global turbine solutions backed by extensive service networks.
    4.  Windey (China) – Cost-efficient turbine offerings serving diverse global installations.
    5.  Mingyang Smart Energy (China) – Smart energy turbines with a growing offshore wind focus.
    6.  SANY (China) – End-to-end wind turbine manufacturing and project execution capabilities.
    7.  Siemens Gamesa (Spain) – Advanced turbine technology with a strong offshore portfolio.
    8.  Nordex (Germany) – Modular onshore wind turbines designed for flexible deployment.
    9.  GE Vernova (USA) – Onshore and offshore turbine systems with integrated service solutions.
    10. Suzlon Energy (India) – Wind turbine solutions supporting emerging and developing markets.

The wind turbine sector is progressing through larger turbine capacities, digital integration, and service-led models. Companies aligning engineering strength with project execution and lifecycle support are better positioned to sustain performance and reliability over time.

In future, the changes in the wind turbine market will mainly revolve around the means of making the work more efficient, the life longer, and the cost of maintenance lower. What is more, offshore wind farms’ rise and the progress in the energy storage field will be the major factors stirring up the market coming from the next years.

Increasing investment in offshore wind and floating projects

The wind turbine market is experiencing a surge of an influx of capital in offshore wind projects, a consequence of the high-energy production potential of such projects and the rapid decline in their costs, the authors also say.

The market is seeing an increasing demand for floating wind turbines, which allow for installation in deeper waters, thus, significantly increasing the potential for the development of offshore wind energy.

To a large extent, market efficiency gains and expansion of its growth are being fueled by the technology innovations in turbines, for example, increased grid integration capabilities and larger rotor diameters.

The wind turbine market is also undergoing a substantial transformation towards the adoption of eco-friendly practices and accelerated usage of renewable energy sources as a result of the sustainability and carbon emission reduction that have come to be the primary focus.
