Sources contacted by energynomics.ro confirmed the name of Virgil Popescu as the most likely future minister of the new portfolio of the Economy, which will also include the Energy portfolio.

The merger of the ministries of Energy and Economy is already decided, despite strong market voices, even within the liberal party that will form the government, PNL, which require keeping a separate ministry. “In Europe we have 26 countries with separate ministries of energy and only about five with ministries included.
