The market value of all companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) has increased significantly over the last four years.

The Romanian and foreign companies listed on BVB at the end of July 2013 had a cumulative capitalization of 23.2 billion euros. From then until July 31, 2017, their total capitalization went up 53 percent to 35.5 billion euros.

Regarding the evolution of the Romanian companies listed on the local capital market, it rose from EUR 12.3 billion on 31 July 2013 to over EUR 20.2 billion on 31 July this year, which corresponded to an increase of the capitalization of over 64 percent.

“The value of Romanian companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange grew by almost 8 billion euros in just four years,” said BVB president, Lucian Anghel.

As the local capital market takes steps towards promoting Emerging Market status, access to larger capital flows will increase. Once this promotion has been achieved, Romania will have access to more than 20 times more funds than it is today.
