The number of green certificates traded in the first two months fell by more than 1200%

In the first two months of this year, on OPCOM energy exchange, were traded 987 green certificates, over 12 times less than the volume traded in the same period last year, which amounted to 12.140 green certificates, according to the data of the energy market operator.

In February, the 110 bidders have released 109 offers for sale and an offer for purchase, with only 81 green certificates being traded. The closing price was 131.0847 lei/certificate. In January, 107 participants have launched 104 offers for sale and three offers for purchase and the closing price of the 906 green certificates traded was the same, 131.0847 lei/certificate, equivalent to 29.1 euro/certificate. The maximum trading value permitted by law is 267.0358 lei/green certificate.

Last year, the number of green certificates traded on the dedicated platform PCCV (Centralized Green Certificates Market) fell by over 730%, to 36.618 certificates, compared to over 2.675 million units traded in 2014.

According to data published by OPCOM, 98% of the total transactions with green certificates last year were made in the first four months of the year, while in May, June and July no transaction was performed.
