The government estimates that it will collect more than 264 million lei in addition to the initial budgetary provisions from the tax on the additional income obtained by the domestic producers as a result of the deregulation of prices in the natural gas sector, according to the draft ordinance approving the budgetary rectification, quoted by profit.ro.

Thus, the quoted document foresees an additional revenue of 264.48 million lei from this source, the main payers being Romgaz and OMV Petrom, which together provide about 94% of Romania’s domestic gas production.

The initial law of the state budget for 2019 provided for revenue of 916.21 million lei from this source, so the Executive hopes to increase by almost 29% of this figure.
