The Energy Ministry published on its website the consolidated report of the stage of qualitative analysis of the drafting of Romania’s Energy Strategy 2016 – 2030, with the perspective of 2050, conducted in consultation during March 9 to April 14, 2016, according to a release the institution.

The structure of the report is defined by the five debate topics of the workshops organized by the Ministry of Energy, in the process of developing the Strategy, between 9 March to 14 April 2016. These sessions were attended by about 250 experts from academia, associations of producers, distributors and consumers of energy, nongovernmental organizations, regulatory agencies, the Government and Parliament of Romania.

“We are on schedule in terms of developing the national energy strategy and what I enjoy most about this document is wide participation of specialists in the field of energy. I want to emphasize once again that, although this document is coordinated by the Ministry of Energy, it does not belong to us, but to the entire domain.

I proposed the issuance of an energy strategy at the start of my mandate because we all need guidelines for the coming years and predictability in public policy. Putting under public debate of the reports on Energy Strategy has been an impressive exercise for a public institution such as the Ministry of Energy and the fact that we managed to involve almost 300 specialists in development of the Strategy is already a notable performance. The consolidated report we publish now is also available and we hope that interaction with the civil society will once more help refine final hypotheses,” said the Energy minister, Victor Grigorescu, according to Agerpres and Bursa.

Now, it is almost completed the stage of appointing the consultant responsible for quantitative modeling of the strategy. The final report of the Energy Strategy will be implemented in the second half of September, by integrating quantitative modeling results of qualitative analysis report. The final report of the Energy Strategy will be subject to public debate in late September, ministry officials say.
