The provisions setting measures to increase the energy performance of buildings are to be aligned with European legislation, writes Arena Constructiilor.

The bill is currently at the committees of the Chamber of Deputies, after it was adopted by the Senate. The new law will establish conditions regarding the application of the minimum energy performance requirements to the technical systems of the building, when they are installed or partially or totally replaced, national plans to increase the number of buildings with almost zero energy consumption and technical building systems and electromobility.

A novelty of the law is the detailing of the long-term renovation strategy, which will be developed by the Ministry of Public Works, Development and Administration.
