A consortium formed by Siemens Romania, Siemens AG Österreich and Red Point Software Solutions has developed an intelligent solution for the collection and management of metering data, specially designed for the distribution company Delgaz Grid. The solution includes two applications integrated on a common platform, which have the capacity to process and centrally manage, in the final configuration, the data coming from 1,500,000 electricity consumption points in the Eastern area of Romania.
“We are happy that through the close collaboration between Siemens Romania and Delgaz Grid, it will be possible to monitor the energy supply at the consumer level as well as to intervene quickly, remotely, to resolve situations related to the continuity of energy supply”, said Daniel Barciuc, CEO of Siemens Romania.
The implementation of an integrated and centralized Metering Data Management System ensures the processing of data from smart and classic meters, as well as the standardization of procedures and processes used in the “from measurement to billing” chain.
“Delgaz Grid plans to have about 85% of our consumers benefit from smart energy metering systems by the end of 2029, and the solution developed by Siemens perfectly fits the company’s business needs. Thus, we are paving the way for the large-scale introduction of differentiated tariffs by hourly intervals and dynamic tariffs, depending on the demand and supply of energy on the market, as well as flexibility services. The project to create the integrated and centralized metering data management system presented a high level of complexity, as it included numerous types of Delgaz Grid meters, of different generations, in a system capable of managing a large amount of data in real time.

The metering data management system is already operational, offering as main functionalities the collection and processing of data, as well as the calculation of electricity consumption.
