Romania recorded the highest energy spot price in the region on Wednesday

The average price of electricity on the spot stock market, with delivery on Wednesday, on the Romanian market was of 63.82 euros per MWh, being the highest in the region, according to data from the OPCOM stock exchange operator.

In the national currency, the energy costs on average 301 lei per MWh, with a maximum of 440 lei between 17:00 and 18:00.

Compared to Tuesday, energy on the Romanian market is more expensive by 6%, according to Agerpres.

In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the price of Wednesday is 57% lower, of 40 euros per MWh. Compared to Tuesday, energy price has decreased by 15% and 20% in these countries.

In Hungary, energy delivered on Wednesday costs 56 euros per MWh, up 7% on the previous day.

On Wednesday, at 10:40 am, Romania’s national electricity consumption was of 7,497 MW, according to the data on the state of the national energy system, presented in real time on the Transelectrica website.

The national production amounted to 6,384 MW, the difference of 1,114 MW representing imports.
