Rețele Electrice România, part of the PPC group, has launched on the SEAP electronic public procurement platform, a tender with a maximum estimated value of approximately 59 million lei (excluding VAT). This aims to purchase fully equipped prefabricated concrete transformer substations, which will be used in investment projects carried out between 2026 and 2030.

Thus, Rețele Electrice România will purchase, through this tender, prefabricated transformer substations, equipped with medium voltage equipment (24 kV), integrated into compact “MINIBOX” type solutions, intended for the modernization and expansion of the electricity distribution network. These equipments, delivered ready-assembled from the factory, ensure the efficient and safe distribution of electricity between the components of the network infrastructure. Their use contributes to reducing installation times, increasing system reliability and optimizing the space occupied in distribution points. The new transformer stations, once installed, will be integrated into the remote network management system.

The investment is part of the network development program and aims to increase distribution capacity, facilitate the integration of new energy sources and connect new consumers, in the context of increasing electricity demand. At the same time, it contributes to increasing the reliability and resilience of the infrastructure in the face of climate change and new consumption needs generated by urbanization and the emergence of forms of decentralized production, while ensuring a more efficient distribution service better adapted to current requirements.

“We continue to invest in the modernization and expansion of the electricity distribution network, in order to respond to the increase in consumer demand, facilitate the integration of new energy sources and support the connection of new users. By purchasing fully equipped prefabricated transformer substations, we ensure the necessary resources for the development of future projects, while also contributing to increasing the reliability and resilience of the infrastructure, including in the context of climate change and the development of decentralized production, as well as to providing a more efficient distribution service adapted to the current needs of consumers”, said Mihai Pește, General Manager of Rețele Electrice România.

The tender for the purchase of fully equipped concrete transformer substations will have a deadline for submitting bids on SEAP until 25.05.2026, and the awarded contract will have a duration of 48 months.

To encourage sustainable practices, the company has included specific criteria in the selection process. Thus, bidders who present evidence of the implementation and maintenance of documented procedures according to ISO 14040 will benefit from an additional score in the evaluation of technical offers. This aspect underlines the company’s concern for environmental protection and the implementation of green solutions in the supply chain.
