Republic of Moldova opens up new investment opportunities through the privatization of publicly owned state assets

    The Republic of Moldova has announced a new set of privatization opportunities targeting selected state-owned assets in the fields of industry, real estate, publishing and chemical production, it claims Investment Agency from the Republic of Moldova.

    The privatization processes, announced by the Public Property Agency, include the State Enterprise “Glass Factory in Chisinau”, the State Enterprise “Hotel Zarea”, the Editorial-Polygraphic Enterprise “Știința”, the State Didactic Publishing House “Lumina” and the Experimental Chemical Enterprise “Izomer”.

    The State Enterprise “Glass Factory in Chisinau” is exhibited through an investment competition, as a unique heritage complex. The enterprise has an active production profile, existing infrastructure and potential for consolidation as a competitive regional producer. The initial exposure price is 773 million MDL. According to the terms of reference, the prospective investor will have to make minimum investments of more than EUR 20.5 million within three years.

    The investment competition for the State Enterprise “Glass Factory in Chisinau” will be held in two stages, including the evaluation of submitted documents and bids. The winner will be selected according to the proposed price and the investment commitments assumed, in accordance with the conditions of the competition. Offers can be submitted until September 30, 2026, at 17:00, Chisinau time, at the headquarters of the Public Property Agency.

    The Public Property Agency also announced the organization of an auction for the privatization of several state-owned public assets. These include the State Enterprise “Hotel Zarea”, located in the center of Chisinau, with an initial sale price of 106 million MDL; The Editorial-Polygraphic Enterprise “Ştiința”, with an initial sale price of 6.3 million MDL; and the State Didactic Publishing House “Lumina”, with an initial sale price of 530,000 MDL. Bids for these assets can be submitted until August 19, 2026, 12:00 p.m., Chisinau time. The auction is scheduled for August 20, 2026.

    A separate tender was announced for the Experimental Chemical Enterprise “Izomer”, offered as a unique heritage complex. The company has an initial sale price of 9.5 million MDL. Applicants must submit their participation application no later than August 19, 2026, 12:00 p.m., Chisinau time. The auction is scheduled for August 20, 2026, in Chisinau.

    Participation is open, under the conditions provided by law, to individuals and legal entities from the Republic of Moldova, fully private foreign individuals and legal entities, stateless persons and associations of eligible participants, the Agency also announced.

    By privatizing these assets, the Republic of Moldova aims at the efficient use of public property, the attraction of private investments and the creation of conditions for the further development and modernization of selected enterprises and assets.

    The Investment Agency supports the national and international dissemination of these investment opportunities and remains available to provide general information on the investment environment of the Republic of Moldova and to facilitate access to relevant institutional contacts.
