The Alba Green Energy 2025 Fair brought a very special edition to Alba Iulia, marking a growing interest in electric mobility and green technologies that are changing the face of communities. More than 20 electric vehicles – from cars and scooters to utility vehicles – were on display and tested by the public, in the most consistent line-up ever presented at this event.
Organized on 19-20 September by the Alba Local Energy Agency (ALEA) and Alba County Council, the fair brought together hundreds of visitors, companies and authorities interested in energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. Test drives offered by car dealers attracted the public’s attention and confirmed the growing appetite of Romanians for electric mobility.
Beyond the area dedicated to electric vehicles, the fair offered an overview of modern solutions for energy efficiency in homes and buildings: photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, smart heating and cooling systems, energy-saving lighting and smart home technologies.
A distinctive feature of the 2025 edition was the “Eco Inventica” Salon, where Romanian inventors presented their projects focused on energy efficiency and technological innovation. At the same time, young people from the XEO group, “Horea, Cloșca and Crișan” National College, impressed with a robotics demonstration on “missions for the community”.
The educational and public policy dimension of the event was reinforced by a discussion session with local authorities, focusing on the financing of sustainable energy projects and the integration of energy-climate-space planning, with the presentation of the “IN-PLAN Procedure” tool. Another topical issue was the fight against energy poverty, based on the experiences gained in the European CEESEN-BENDER project.
The public was also attracted by the artistic moments of the “eco-spectacle for kindergartens”, as well as by the fair’s tombola, where exhibitors offered substantial prizes. ALEA provided an information point with free advice on renovating buildings and setting up energy communities.
The organizers stressed that Alba Green Energy will continue to be a meeting point between companies, authorities and the community to raise awareness on sustainable energy and to support the sustainable development of the region.
