Moldova Business Week 2025 (15 to 19 of September), organized by Invest Moldova Agency under the banner “Moldova is Open for Business”, will host a landmark event for the energy sector on September 19th, from 09:30 to 12:30, at the Urban Center in Chișinău. Branded Power UP – Moldova Energy Forum, the session will gather policymakers, regulators, financiers, and private developers to debate the country’s recent progress and outline priorities for 2026.

The forum comes at a crucial time, with Moldova targeting 40% renewables in its electricity mix by 2030. Central to the agenda is the announcement of a new renewable energy tender, set to be unveiled by Carolina Novac, State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, in her keynote presentation. Market players view this as a pivotal moment to expand investment in solar, wind, and storage projects, after a year of accelerated regulatory and infrastructure developments.

The event will open with remarks from Dorin Junghietu, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Moldova, who is expected to emphasize the government’s commitment to market liberalization and regional energy integration.

At the core of the morning will be a panel discussion on “Moldova’s Energy Sector – Lessons of 2025, Priorities for 2026”, moderated by Invest Moldova Agency. The debate will feature representatives from the Ministry of Energy, ANRE, Moldelectrica, as well as banks, investors, and renewable project developers. Topics will range from system integration and balancing challenges to financing mechanisms and Moldova’s contribution to regional energy security.

With a limited capacity of 80 participants, Power UP will also facilitate direct dialogue between local authorities and the investment community. A networking session with speakers and partners will close the half-day event, offering space for bilateral exchanges and new project opportunities.

Moldova Business Week 2025 – a broader economic vision

Now in its 10th annual edition, Moldova Business Week stands as the country’s premier economic forum, designed to position Moldova as an attractive destination for international capital. This year’s program, taking place between September 15–19, is structured around the National Industrial Development Program, Moldova’s first state-backed scheme to support industrial investment. The week also explores Moldova’s fast-growing IT sector, the country’s role in Ukraine’s reconstruction, and new opportunities in infrastructure and services.

Alongside the energy forum, the agenda on September 19th includes sessions on export strategies, health tech, business services, and investment financing, highlighting the diversity of Moldova’s economic transition.

For the energy community across the region, however, the Power UP forum is set to be the focal point. With the upcoming renewable tender and ambitious decarbonization targets, Moldova is signaling continuity, openness, and readiness to integrate into the European energy landscape.

Highlights of the September 15–18 agenda include the launch of the Moldova Investment Map, the International Forum on SME access to external markets, a Real Estate Forum, and multiple industry study visits covering agrifood, textiles, fashion, automotive, and embedded technologies, alongside workshops on digital transformation, e-commerce, and creative industries.
