The Local Investors Employers (PIAROM) estimates that in 2016 the energy sector was characterized by lack of decision, aspect that led to the failure of providing heating for most of the population of Romania, consider the PIAROM representatives, in a press release.

“At a time when at EU level the ‘winter package’ is debated, with measures aimed at strengthening the European energy market, at a time when the EU energy policy is violated by the announcement regarding the North Stream 2 project, the Romanian authorities do not discuss and do not endorse any measure in the energy field”, say the PIAROM officials.

The PIAROM representatives want the the energy strategy to be finalised, so that the national resources to be capitalized and in order to generate income by creating new jobs in the local industry.

“We are publicly asking for years for an energy strategy to take into account the possibility of exploiting the resources of biomass, especially in the production of the thermal energy from local resources which would increase the comfort of the entire population, by creating cheap thermal resources, necessary to the small local industry, which is generating employment in non-agricultural activities, namely the realization of revenue from such activities”, reads the release.

According to PIAROM, contrary to the 2010 National Action Plan in the Field of Energy from Renewable Resources (PNAER) and of the 2010 Biomass Usage Plan, legal documents approved by the governments of Romania, “the program Casa Verde nominated for funding in 2016 only imported technologies, heating pumps and solar panels, ignoring all comments received from the business sector, including those made publicly and written by the patronage”, also claim the representatives.

The Patronage requests the Government and the Parliament “to carefully consider the energy issues of the 2016-2017 winter, as well as to take measures to sanction those who ignore and disadvantage the local innovation and the real consultation process with the business sector”, it is shown in the statement.
