Panfora Oil&Gas will pay leases to land owners to access the field needed for traditional hzdrocarbons explorations, the company announced via a press release received by energynomics.ro.

The company clarified again the fact it is drilling for hydrocarbons in a classic manner, and that it continues the information campaign meant to establish a mutually trusted relationship with the communities in Arad county, part of EX-6 perimeter, and that it has begun to notify land-owners about its operations, according to the provisions of the Petroleum Law.

The process is meant to offer land-owners fair compensations and to avoid time-consuming bureaucratic hardship.

“We want to assure each and every land-owner that Panfora Oil & Gas and its geophysical measurements supplier are prepared to pay fair compensations. As said on numerous occasions, the surface measurement operations will observe property rights and all applicable legislation. In this respect, the notification process related to beginning the exploration operations is also one of provisions of the Petroleum Law. As we are committed to continue building a mutually beneficial long-term relationship with the communities in Arad county, we want to offer land-owners and lessees correct and timely compensations for land access and for any unrealized crops, if the case”, stated Ede Nagy, Managing Director of Panfora Oil & Gas.

“Panfora Oil & Gas understands the communities’ concerns about all the aspects that exploration operations entail. Therefore, the company is prepared to demonstrate the excellent track-record that MOL Group has in this respect and which is clearly visible only a few kilometers away from the area of Ex-6 Curtici, across the border in Hungary,” the release reveals.

The company emphasizes that for the entire duration of the concession agreement it will employ only the traditional technologies, which had been used for decades in petroleum operations in Romania. Neither the hydraulic fracturing, nor horizontal drilling will be used.

Moreover, the surface measuring operations employ the state-of-the-art vibrating equipment, which has such a limited impact on the environment, that it was used in other EU countries even in the urban areas. The duration of operations is a few days for each land-owner, depending on the size of the plot of land.

On the other hand, conventional oil & gas exploration and production can coexist with agricultural activities very well, as it has been proven in several areas of the Arad county – Pecica, Turnu, Pereg. Moreover, the modern technologies employed today have no impact on the environment or communities.

All the operations Panfora Oil & Gas is entitled to conduct are detailed in the concession agreement and the work commitment signed with the NAMR, the only relevant public body in Romania in the field of natural resources. These documents clearly indicate there is neither any commitment nor obligation for exploration for unconventional resources, such as shale gas, and the NAMR has further confirmed this.
