Renomia Gallagher provides insurance solutions for renewable projects in all phases of project development, including war insurance, said Ovidiu Trofin, Senior Placement Specialist, Renomia Gallagher, at the Energy Strategy Summit 2022, an event organized by Energynomics.

“We are seeing an effervescence in the renewables area, and in the area of rooftop solar projects. Many countries like Montenegro, for example, are investing heavily in such projects. On geothermal we see a lot of investments and projects in the Netherlands – we are currently involved in more than 23 projects, covering, of course, the insurance area. In Poland we see a lot of offshore projects. We are waiting for wave 2 to come, there are solutions on all phases – I mean insurance and solutions to outsource the investor’s risk, whether we are talking about natural phenomena or everything related to the functionality of wind turbines or components of such a park. There are solutions in the construction area, in the operational area – for example, loss of income from business interruption. Moreover, since we live in a delicate region, with a war very close to us, although it is not really known – there is also the possibility of insuring the war risk, and not only on cargo policies, as it was until now, but it is possible to insure properties and investments”, said Ovidiu Trofin.

“Renomia is a broker that started 27 years ago in the Czech Republic. The company has developed a lot and has become number 1 in the EEA-CIS region in terms of premiums placed. As a result of the desire to grow and develop and to be able to deliver solutions globally, the merger with another large broker, Gallagher from the USA, took place, so that we are currently ranked 4th globally in terms of premiums placed.

Coming back to us, a regional hub was set up a year ago in Bucharest to serve the EEA-CIS region in the area of business development, but also in the technical area of insurance,” he said.

Energy Strategy Summit 2022 was organized by Energynomics with the support of its partners: ABB, BCR, CE Oltenia, Chimcomplex, Eaton, Electrica Furnizare, Electroalfa, EnergoBit, Enevo Group, European Energy, Eximbank, EY, Franklin Templeton, Horváth, ING, Hidroelectrica, Marsh, MET Energy România, Nuclearelectrica, BCR Pensii, Photomate, Powertis, Renomia Gallagher, Schneider Electric, Transelectrica, Volt, wpd.
