The Romanian company Orchid, owned by entrepreneurs Andrei and Cristina Muntmark, has completed repowering work at the Neusiedl wind farm in Austria. The project involved replacing 44 old turbines with 14 new Vestas turbines, each with a capacity of 6 MW, based on a contract won by the Danish company in 2024. Based in Constanța, Orchid provides installation and maintenance services for wind turbines and photovoltaic parks. The company was founded in 2013, and financial data shows steady growth in activity. Turnover rose from 9.8 million lei in 2018 to 60.9 million lei in 2024, equivalent to approximately 12.1 million euros. During the same period, the number of employees increased from 35 in 2017 to over 300 today. For 2025, the company estimates a turnover of over 20 million euros.

According to public information, Orchid is active in 13 European markets and has a portfolio of 3 GW of installed or serviced wind capacity, i.e. almost a thousand turbines.

The completion of the Neusiedl project marks one of Orchid’s most important international collaborations, in a repowering project that contributes to the modernization of Austria’s renewable energy infrastructure and may represent a milestone for the future of the Romanian market.
