OMV Petrom contributes 3 mln. euro to the modernization of the Ploiești Emergency Hospital

OMV Petrom, the largest integrated energy company in Southeast Europe, supports the modernization of the Ploiești County Emergency Hospital “Dr. Constantin Andreoiu” with 3 million euros. The medical unit is the most important in Prahova, being the only hospital in the area with departments of plastic surgery, micro-reconstructive surgery and treatment of burn patients. Ploiești Dr. Constantin Andreoiu County Emergency Hospital is the largest medical institution in Prahova County and provides medical assistance to approximately 65,000 patients annually.

“We are happy that we can contribute to equipping the Ploiești Dr. Constantin Andreoiu County Emergency Hospital with modern equipment that improves the quality of medical services and patient safety. This project is particularly important to us and reinforces the strong partnership we have built with the community here. In parallel with the investments we make and the jobs we provide in Ploiesti and Prahova county, we are involved in numerous other social projects developed for the benefit of local communities,” said Christina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom.

The 7 surgery rooms of the Operating Block of the Ploiești Emergency County Hospital “Dr. Constantin Andreoiu”, out of a total of 13, were recently renovated and will be equipped, following the sponsorship granted by OMV Petrom, with a series of modern equipment. Among them are 4 operating tables, 5 complete surgery lines, defibrillator, high-performance anesthesia machine, system for difficult intubations with video assistance, air sterilization systems, radiology machine and other medical equipment.

OMV Petrom has been constantly involved in important health projects. Thus, the company supported the Donate Life Association with 10 million euros for the first oncology hospital for children in Romania. Also, OMV Petrom supported the Blondie Association with 1.5 million euros, to facilitate the transport of patients, especially children, whose conditions cannot be treated in our country. The company also got involved in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting the Red Cross and frontline hospitals with 1.4 million euros. In total, in the last 5 years, OMV Petrom has supported the medical sector in Romania with over 16 million euros.
