The agreement regarding the exchange of assets between OMV and Gazprom will be completed this year, announced the CEO of the Russian energy group, Alexei Miller, reports Reuters.

The exchange will only include assets held by OMV in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, and not assets in Austria, said the General Manager of the Austrian group, Rainer Seele. Meanwhile, Gazprom would deliver to OMV 1.5 million tons of oil this year.

OMV and Gazprom agreed in September, a possible exchange of assets, movement around which the energy press and market analysts have speculated that it could even include assets operated by Petrom, especially in the refining segment.

Recently, Rainer Seele argued that refining assets in Romania and Austria are not to be transferred into an agreement with Gazprom. The OMV target is to gain access to Russian hydrocarbon deposits in Siberia.
