NextPower, a provider of technologies and energy solutions for large-scale photovoltaic plants, announces the launch of new solar tracker and foundation technologies designed to simplify installation, expand project siting options and improve their long-term performance. Depending on the site characteristics, solar tracker systems can increase energy production by approximately 10–17% compared to fixed-structure systems. When combined with NextPower’s TrueCapture technology, the efficiency increase can reach up to 20%.
In Romania and the wider Eastern Europe region, NextPower recently announced a partnership with ENEVO Group to support the delivery of 1 GW of solar energy capacity through several large-scale photovoltaic projects.
As renewable energy investments accelerate, developers need to implement projects in more complex conditions without compromising profitability. To address these challenges, NextPower is expanding its solar technology portfolio with a range of solutions designed to streamline development and construction, support profitability and provide greater flexibility in site selection and configuration.
Among the solutions announced by the company is NX Anchor, a foundation solution designed to simplify the installation of photovoltaic projects. According to NextPower, it requires up to 70% less embedment depth than conventional H-pile foundations and can reduce installation time by up to 20%.
The company also launched NX Gemini, a new generation of solar trackers. Solar trackers automatically adjust the position of photovoltaic panels throughout the day to follow the movement of the sun, helping to increase energy production from the same installed capacity. In the context of the accelerated development of large-scale photovoltaic projects, tracking systems have become an essential element for maximizing energy production and return on investment.
“Solar projects in Europe are becoming increasingly specialized, and customers need more flexibility in how they are designed and built,” said Yves Figuerola, General Manager of NextPower Europe. “We are excited to bring our foundation solutions and 2P tracking system to Europe, where terrain and soil conditions can often be challenging. These solutions have been developed to provide developers with increased flexibility, efficiency and reduced risk during the construction phase. At the same time, they extend access to NextPower’s proven software platform and control systems to a wider range of projects.”
NX Anchor is an integrated foundation solution designed for photovoltaic projects developed in a variety of terrain and soil conditions. It helps developers meet more complex site requirements and expand the range of locations where projects can be effectively implemented. The solution is compatible with multiple pile configurations, adapted to terrains with varying geotechnical characteristics, including frost risk or low stability areas. It can be installed using standard construction equipment
The new solutions are part of NextPower’s strategy to integrate structural, electrical, digital and software technologies into a unified platform, aimed at improving the development and operation of photovoltaic projects in the long term. In this context, the company plans to extend advanced software functionalities to the NX Gemini system, such as TrueCapture tracker control technology and the NX Navigator monitoring and control platform, to help customers optimize energy production and operational performance.
With over 160 GW installed globally and a growing presence in Europe, NextPower continues to invest in technologies designed to support the next generation of large-scale photovoltaic projects.
