Mugur Isarescu, new mandate as BNR governor

Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Mugur Isărescu, was unanimously endorsed for a new term of office at the NBR helm by the Budget Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.

Also, were voted for the NBR Board of Directors Florin Georgescu, Leonardo Badea, Eugen Nicolaescu, Balint Csaba, Gheorghe Gherghina, Cristian Popa, Dan Radu Ruşanu and Virgiliu Jorj Stoenescu.

In total, there were 13 candidates for the NBR Board of Directors: Mugur Isărescu, Florin Georgescu, Leonardo Badea, Ionut Dumitru, Eugen Nicolăescu, Balint Csaba, Marin Dinu, Gheorghe Gherghina, Ion Horia Neamţu, Cristian Popa, Dan Radu Rusanu, Aura Gabriela Socol and Virgiliu Jorj Stoenescu, according to Agerpres.

In the case of Ionut Dumitru and Ion Horia Neamtu, the majority of parliamentarians abstained, and Aura Gabriela Socol and Marin Dinu did not appear at the hearings.
