Transelectrica SA obtained, for the third consecutive year, the Ba1 rating (Corporate Family Rating) with a positive outlook, from the evaluation agency Moody’s Investors Service, the company announced on Wednesday.

Thus, Moody’s maintains, for 2020, the rating of CNTEE Transelectrica SA, with an improvement of the rating at individual level from Ba2 to Ba1.

The Ba1 rating with a positive outlook reflects a low business risk profile of CNTEE Transelectrica SA, given the strategic importance of the natural monopoly company, in the context of a continuous improvement of the regulatory framework, the statement sent to Agerpres reveals.

According to the quoted source, the company’s rating at the individual level (Baseline Credit Assessments) has improved, rising from Ba2 to Ba1. The individual rating represents the inner-ability of a company to meet financial obligations without government support.

“The reconfirmation of the rating with a positive outlook is a validation of the company’s credibility in relation to investors. We want to maintain and strengthen this credibility through seriousness and professionalism and consistency in implementing investment plans,” said Catalin Niţu, CEO and president of Directorate of CNTEE Transelectrica SA.
