Phoenix Contact has launched Digital Factory Now, a new integrated concept that helps companies streamline their production, said Cătălin Lepinzean, business development manager at Phoenix Contact, during the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Oradea”, organized by Energynomics.

Phoenix Contact, a German technology manufacturer specializing in connectivity equipment for automation systems, was founded in 1923. ”We started a small family business and, over the years, we have developed our product portfolio and have has become a company with a global footprint, as we are present in all countries around the world. We started from connectivity solutions and many of the specialists know us as a global leader in terms of connectivity, and then we have developed ourselves in everything that is an interface, automation equipment”, he said.

Digital Factory Now, the company’s new concept, focuses primarily on energy efficiency. “We have this problem of streamlining all production or consumption processes, to reduce our carbon footprint and energy costs. All the approaches involving the addition of photovoltaic solutions, keeping costs and consumption under control must lead us to a digital concept. We call it Digital Factory Now because we address mainly the industrial manufacturers, but the concept can be extrapolated for local authorities, etc. One of the targets would be, for example, the complete customization of the production part, which must be economically viable, even up to the level of production of a single copy.

Decentralization will lead to a simplified hierarchy of data processes, so that production lines communicate directly with the ERP or MES system, or directly in the Cloud. Digital Factory Now establishes, among the main pillars, the part of data transport, their collection and saving, the security of the connection between IT and production and the use of data.

We also provide the necessary consultancy in the realization of these data networks and everything comes bundled with the necessary applications for starting, diagnosing and scanning these networks “, he added, offering details about the company’s services.

The conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Oradea”, was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners ABB Romania, Enel X Romania, Phoenix Contact, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe, Wiren.
