The Romanian National Institute for the Study of the Management and Use of Energy Sources – IRE joined Eurelectric, the institution announced.

Electrification Alliance and a large group of 100 organizations in the major industrial sectors and civil society in the European Union have called on EU decision makers to accelerate the promotion of clean and renewable electricity consumption as the most efficient strategy in terms of of the actual costs of making Europe a climate-neutral continent.

Eurelectric is among the founding members of the Electrification Alliance which was founded in 2017 with the main objective of advocating for the recognition of clean and intelligent electricity as the basis for an efficient and decarbonised Europe. Electrica SA was among the companies that supported the establishment of the Electrification Alliance and signed the June 2017 statement.

“IRE is joining Eurelectric, for which sustainable development is the main objective. An efficient, low-carbon electricity industry that ensures its supply at a sustainable cost, in an integrated market, is the key to sustainable development. We want to contribute to the alignment of Romania with the new trends. The solutions are new technologies and digitalization… The whole European package Clean energy for all Europeans has as its main target the consumers and their needs,” said Corina Popescu, President of the Romanian National Institute for the Study of the Management and Use of Energy Sources – IRE.
