The Environmental Fund Authority (AFM) will close Friday, April 5, the application submission period for installers for the photovoltaic panels of prosumers (small PV energy producers), told energynomics.ro Andrei Iorgulescu, Director for Projects, AFM.

„About 450-470 installers applied, but many of them are the ones who have been previously rejected… that’s why this number is not relevant … We relaxed the rules, we made the program more flexible, and we hope we’ll have at least 150-200 validated installers,” Iorgulescu said.

The relaxation of the enrollment conditions included the provision requiring similar previous works in the PV segment, as installations in Romania were not that many. At present, it is sufficient to demonstrate previous maintenance or assembly skills, Iorgulescu explained.

„The filing period ends on April 5, and we will validate it within the shortest time – one week or two – depending on the total number of entries. We have relaxed the conditions and have made the mechanism flexible as long as possible, so that many more installers can apply”.

The Regional Operational Program will finance prosumers investments by 115 million euro. At the same time, the AFM will make available to small photovoltaic green energy producers a buffer fund for financing the projects.
