On March 11, Electrica’s Board of Directors revoked Ioan Rosca from the position of CEO of the company. Iuliana Andronache CFO within Electrica was appointed as interim CEO.

In the press release sent by Electrica, Cristian Busu Chairman of the Board thanked “Mr Rosca for the contribution he had during an over 25-year career at Electrica and in particular for his involvement in the successful listing of the company.”

The sudden decision puts in a new light the company release on February 26, when Electrica announcing the amicable split by “mutual agreement”. In late February, Electrica’s administrators announced that they agreed with Ioan Rosca to terminate his mandate in June, at the latest. A selection process of replacement was intended to be held for over two months.

Ioan Roşca was general manager at Electrica from the second half of 2012.

The revocation is announced the same day when www.profit.ro website published an article informing that the DNA is checking some procurement services for renewal of Microsoft licenses by Electrica SA from 2009 to 2012. In the period covered by the request for documents from DNA, Electrica SA had two CEOs, Ioan Folescu, between January 2009 and May 2012, and  respectively Ioan Rosca, from 2012 to 2016. Answering a precise question from www.profit.ro, on Folescu and Rosca involvement in the file, DNA said that, at this moment, “you mentioned people who have are not suspects, neither defendants, in this specific case”.
