The Romanian business community, represented by eight business organizations, is reporting in a common voice the accelerated deterioration of the business climate and the erosion of Romania’s credibility.

The economy needs trust and predictability to continue developing. In recent years, companies have had to manage successive challenges and crises. The prolonged electoral context has exacerbated deficits, slowed down the reforms undertaken on which access to financing, job stability and the continuation of planned investments depend.

In order for Romania to remain firmly anchored on the Euro-Atlantic path, not to lose strategic opportunities and to continue to capitalize on the advantages that have put it on the investment map, it is essential that political decisions reflect stability and coherence.

To regain confidence in Romania, the private sector needs action and responsibility from all political actors in ensuring a predictable economic environment, in protecting the free market, the rule of law and national security, as well as in maintaining membership in the European path and in all international structures. Rating agencies, institutional and strategic partners are also following internal developments and are expecting a rapid and credible balancing of the economic situation in Romania.

As before, the business environment wants to be part of the solution. In order to avoid an abrupt economic destabilization, we need vision, determination, concrete and immediate steps towards achieving the assumed objectives in the medium and long term.
