GSP wins new contract in Tunis

Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP), the offshore drilling company controlled by the Constanta businessman Gabriel Comanescu, won a contract for the provision of profile offshore operations in the continental shelf of Tunisia, the operations will be carried out by the Jupiter platform.

“The new contract allows GSP to maintain its presence in the southern Mediterranean, which is one of the markets of greatest interest to operations that our company performs. In the current context, the slight recovery of the market, we are primarily interested in restoring contract relations with former partners. We are even more pleased that we have won this new contract with Numhyd after the drilling campaign conducted on the continental shelf of Tunisia in 2011 and 2012, ” said Gabriel Comanescu, president and CEO of GSP, quoted by zf.ro.

According to information from GSP, Numhyd activities involve exploration and production of oil and gas in Tunisia and Algeria. It is owned and managed jointly by the Tunisian Society of Petroleum Activities (ETAP) and the National Oil Company of Algeria (Sonatrach), both state companies. Each of the both mentioned state companies hold 50% of Numhyd.
