Greenvolt Group has increased the value of a revolving financing facility from 315 million euros to 472.5 million euros, as part of a transaction initially contracted in 2024.
This facility, initially approved until October 2027, now includes a three-year bullet repayment structure, with the maturity extended until July 2029, subject to terms and conditions, including guarantees, typical of similar transactions.
The facility worth 472.5 million euros will contribute to the consolidation of Greenvolt Group’s balance sheet and support its growth, in particular the acceleration of the portfolio of wind, photovoltaic and BESS projects with a capacity of 12.8 GW, in the Utility-Scale segment.
As part of this refinancing, the syndicated loan attracted four new financial institutions, as well as increased commitments within the existing syndicate, reflecting the financial institutions’ confidence in Greenvolt’s strategy and ambition. Following the transaction and including the existing lenders, the syndicate now consists of 12 international institutions.
The financing supports the company’s strategy to strengthen long-term relationships with leading financial institutions as it continues to expand its operations in the renewable energy sector.
“This refinancing transaction demonstrates the strength of Greenvolt’s renewable energy development platform and the quality of its project portfolio, while providing the financial flexibility needed to accelerate growth, particularly in the Utility Scale segment, and to execute our long-term strategy,” says João Manso Neto, CEO of Greenvolt Group.
The €472.5 million facility will help strengthen Greenvolt Group’s balance sheet and enable further growth, in particular supporting the development of its Utility Scale portfolio and driving the next phase of growth. Greenvolt Group is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio of 12.8 GW, comprising 5 GW of energy storage, 4.9 GW of solar and 2.9 GW of wind across 20 countries. In addition to Utility Scale, the Group is also present in the distributed generation segment, operating in 12 geographical areas. Generating clean energy from sustainable biomass is another strategic pillar of Greenvolt Group’s business. In this segment, in addition to the five plants in Portugal, the Group is also present in the United Kingdom, where it owns Tilbury Green Power and the Kent plant.
