Gov’t rectified the budget of the Environment Fund; it also includes the Rabla program for light bulbs

Romanian Government approved the rectified budget of the Environmental Fund and the Administration of the Environmental Fund, which includes, among others, the “Rebate for light bulbs” program, according to which citizens will receive a voucher to replace conventional light bulbs in their homes with new, more efficient LED bulbs from an energy point of view, announced the spokesman of the Executive, Dan Cărbunaru.

“The Government has approved, by decision, the income and expenditure budget for the current year of the Environment Fund and of the Administration of the Environment Fund, rectified. Of great interest to the citizens will probably be the program on increasing energy efficiency, replacing used conventional light bulbs with LED bulbs, worth 400 million lei, the so-called ‘Rabla for light bulbs’ program, according to which Romanian citizens will receive a voucher for replacing conventional light bulbs in their homes with new, more energy-efficient LED bulbs. the main objective of the program is to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in homes for domestic users,” said Dan Cărbunaru, according to Agerpres.

He specified that, regarding the communities, there are another 500 million lei, representing commitment credits, which will finance the public street lighting program, more precisely LED lamps.

“Through the Administration of the Environmental Fund, two new financing programs provided for in the PNRR will be carried out, namely the ‘First connection’ program, dedicated to supporting the connection of the population with low incomes to water supply and sewage networks and the financing program for recycling facilities of waste, which aims to build such facilities in order to achieve the recycling objectives from the circular economy package”, added Cărbunaru.
