American group General Electric (GE) is considering the capacity expansion of the oil equipment factory in Ploiesti, which it bought in 2013 from the company Lufkin, with the production of equipment for off-shore drilling.

“We analyze the possibility of expanding the Lufkin production plant with off-shore equipment, given, for example, the Black Sea resources,” said in a statement Cristian Colţeanu, president and CEO of GE for Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova.

At the factory in Ploiesti there are working almost 400 employees and production is exported in proportion of 90%. GE has in Romania, in Bucharest, a factory for aircraft engine components. Through the two factories GE has achieved an annual export of goods and services of over 70 million dollars.

GE Group closed 2013 with revenues of 146 billion dollars and a net profit of $ 14 billion, up by 3%.
