The price of fuels in Romania has recently exceeded the threshold of 8 lei per liter, according to data analyzed by Agerpres based on the Fuel Price Monitor, an application launched by the Competition Council. At the same time, the price of a liter of petrol in Germany has exceeded the threshold of two euro for the first time.

Exceeding the threshold of 8 lei per liter is a record for the Romanian market and comes in the context of high fuel demand and high prices for all goods worldwide.

Thus, a liter of premium gasoline costs 8.14 lei at the OMV gas stations in the village of Cornu and MOL in Busteni, on DN 1.

Other nearby gas stations also sell fuel for almost 8 lei. For example, a liter of premium petrol at Rompetrol station in Comarnic costs 7.91 lei, at Petrom Buşteni it costs 7.85, and at Lukoil Azuga 7.92 lei.

Premium diesel also costs over 8 lei at the same OMV and MOL gas stations (8.08 lei per liter) and very close to this threshold at Rompetrol, Lukoil and Petrom.

The barrel of oil on the European market exceeded 130 dollars on Monday and was traded on Tuesday, with 125 dollars, on the background of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
