Within 12 months, the project should lead to the development of a national roadmap with annual interim targets, according to RRA.

The Foreign Investors Council proposes launching a national project for the adoption of the euro, bringing together the Government, the National Bank of Romania, and other key stakeholders.

Within 12 months, the project should result in the creation of a national roadmap, featuring annual interim targets focused on sustainable fiscal consolidation, inflation reduction, and structural and legal convergence.

Foreign investors believe that the fiscal consolidation process must progress in parallel with measures to support economic growth and improve Romania’s competitiveness, particularly as the new government begins its term.

They emphasize the importance of maintaining the flat tax rate, eliminating the minimum turnover-based tax as of January 1st of next year, and establishing a predictable timeline for legislative changes that affect companies.

The Foreign Investors Council calls for the economic measures undertaken by the government to be accompanied by clear deadlines, performance indicators, and periodic public reporting.
