For the first time, SOCAR reported a profit in Romania

Fuel distribution operations carried out by Azeri company SOCAR in Romania registered a profit in 2015 for the first time since this Baku-based company entered the local market, shows the financial results sent to the Ministry of Finance.

Thus, the local subsidiary reported revenues of over 616 million lei (-17% compared to 2014) and a net profit of 2 million lei at more than 400 employees. SOCAR opened its first gas station in Romania in Botoșani, at the end of October 2011. Now the company operates 26 stations.

In 2014, the turnover was 17% higher than that recorded for 2015, of 746.3 million lei, but reported a loss of 8.8 million lei. In 2012, the first full-year under SOCAR, the turnover approached 232.7 million lei; losses were located around 14.6 million lei.
