Europe is embarking on a transition to climate neutrality, and the European Union’s (EU) goal is for more than 2.6 million cars to use hydrogen by 2030, says Laszlo Borbely, the state’s coordinating adviser for Sustainable Development.

“Europe is embarking on a transition to climate neutrality in a changing world. The coronavirus pandemic has not stopped European ambitions to reduce pollutant emissions. In terms of hydrogen applications, I give you some interesting information: the EU’s goal of 2030 is to exceed the number of 2.6 million cars that use this technology. The socio-economic reconstruction will most likely be a “green one” that takes into account the impact on the environment. Romania must become an important player and capitalize on the potential in this area,” Borbely said, according to Agerpres.

The ambitious plan developed by the European Ecological Pact will have a significant impact on the Romanian energy sector. Thus, innovation and research become key elements for the development of energy sources.
