Ensys, one of the most important suppliers of turnkey photovoltaic systems in Romania, estimates that the company’s business in 2023 will exceed 30 million euros. The company is counting on growth in the segment of residential prosumers and on the increase of interest of companies to implement photovoltaic systems for the efficiency of operational energy costs.

“The current energy crisis shows us how important diversification is in the energy market and makes the adoption of renewable solutions faster than ever. In Romania, we observe the growth of interest in complete photovoltaic solutions, both among residential consumers, but especially among industrial ones. Romanians are willing to allocate a consistent budget to ensure a certain level of energy independence, government programs such as “Casa Verde” and “Electric-up” being a considerable support, even despite the long evaluation and financing terms.

“Compared to the same period last year, the number of applications for the installation of photovoltaic systems for residential consumers can be considered to have tripled, many of them turning to low-capacity systems, 3-8 kWp, including the availability of financing from their own sources. This trend makes us target a total number of 6,000 projects in the area of residential customers, which we are going to install by the end of 2023. This estimate includes both the Casa Verde 2019 and 2021 programs, as well as systems installed from our own funds up to at 27 kWp. On the other hand, we focus on offering competitive products to the industrial and commercial sector, where we have the capacity to install systems of over 30 MWp, only with our own teams,” says Sebastian Crișan, interim CEO of Ensys.

In the residential segment, Ensys has planned more than 4,400 systems with an average power of 6 kWp/system, representing a cumulative installed power of more than 27 MWp, and aims to manage for its customers more than 15% of the total budget of the “Casa Verde 2023” program, meaning more than 25,000 contracts and a total estimated power of 125MW.

Regarding the business-to-business segment with systems over 50kWp, ENSYS has 60 projects under construction, totaling 4.7MW, the number of which will increase as the projects already contracted will obtain all the necessary technical approvals.

“If the year 2022 produced a lot of anxiety among consumers, for Romania, we expect that the year 2023 will bring great progress regarding the number of households and companies that install photovoltaic systems for the production of electricity from renewable sources. If the residential consumer is more concerned with obtaining a quick and low-cost solution, the industrial consumer focuses on amortization, investment and profitability data, and finally hits the high cost of financing or lack of liquidity. However, large electricity consumers are prepared to allocate between 10-20% of their investment budget to finance an energy efficiency project. And where the purchase of the system is not an option, we come to the aid of customers with OpEx services through the revolutionary product “Solar as a Service” for “rental” of green energy, at significantly reduced costs compared to the average cost of supplying electricity, Ensys being probably the first private provider of complete services in the photovoltaics segment in Romania that offers such services, without additional conditions for the client. Thanks to our experience in the market since 2006, we offer a full range of services, from specialist consulting, design, approval and authorisation, assembly and maintenance, ensuring the highest quality standards,” adds Sebastian Crișan.

Ensys offers complete photovoltaic system solutions: technical, legal consultancy, design, approval, installation, maintenance, access to grants with funding from the Romanian state and private companies. Present on the Romanian market since 2006, Ensys Renewable Solutions has significant experience with photovoltaic projects in residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality, solar parks, etc. applications. and relies exclusively on specialized in-house installation teams and know-how in the renewable electricity industry.
