The Republic of Moldova could increase its energy security by increasing its production capacity, said Oleg Lasco, Country Manager of Simtel Team’s subsidiary in the country.
“Taking into account the energy situation in the Republic of Moldova and the local and regional energy crises, we believe that increasing production capacity would be one of the basic pillars for ensuring the energy security of the state,” he said, at the conference “Regional approach: Chisinau 2025”, organised by Energynomics.
With this in mind, companies could consider installing photovoltaic panels on rooftops, which would help both increase energy production capacity and significantly lower bills. Lasco added that when Simtel Team entered the Moldovan market in 2022, it ran a project of about 3 MW installed on rooftops, as a result of which the customer’s energy bill halved from a level of 200,000 lei. Energy storage units should also be considered by companies in the Republic of Moldova.
“Photovoltaic power plant is one of the main solutions to reduce the bill and increase business reliability. For several years we have also been working on storage projects. In Romania, Simtel is developing several such projects and we want to transfer these experiences to the Republic of Moldova,” Lasco added.
The conference “Regional Approach Chisinau 2025” was organised by Energynomics with the support of our partners Elektra Renewable Support, Adrem Asset Management, Boglight Gaz Moldova, Siemens Energy, Simtel, SolaX Power, SolarToday.
