Eaton is building a new factory in Maramureș, an investment of 6 million USD. The American-Irish company’s strategy includes transforming the area into a regional hub for the electrical industry, according to Transilvania Business.
“The 26 million lei project goes beyond simply building a hall and represents a new step in the development of our operations. We thank the local and county authorities for the promptness with which they supported the start of the construction of the connecting road between the production halls, an essential investment for the efficiency of the internal transport of goods,” said Pamela Mack, Operations Director of the PMCC Division of the Eaton Group.
On behalf of the PMCC management, the project launch was also attended by Monica Gutenschwager – Quality Director, Simone Tomassini – Finance Director, Robert Gries Drumond – Engineering Director, Zoltan Erdei – Eaton Electro Production director, along with Florentin Tuș, president of the Maramures Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and public administration officials.
Thus, Eaton Romania marked the beginning of the construction works of the third production unit in the county, in the village of Sârbi. The project involves a modern 5,000 sqm hall, thus consolidating the presence of one of the most important investors in the county.
This will become Eaton’s third production unit in Maramures, after the two existing in Sârbi and the one in Bușag, confirming the company’s strategy to continue local development and transform the area into a regional hub for the electrotechnical industry.
