E.ON Energie Romania completed and delivered turnkey, last year, 161 photovoltaic power plants for 142 partner companies operating in various industrial branches, the total value of the projects amounting to almost 30 million euro, it is stated in a company release.

The construction of the photovoltaic plants involved the installation of 74,230 photovoltaic modules on an area of 178,152 square meters, the equivalent of about 25 football fields, in the locations of the partners, located in 31 counties.

With a total installed capacity of 32 MWp, the photovoltaic plants produce about 38 GWh of renewable electricity annually, a quantity that would be enough to supply about 29,000 homes for a whole year.

They provide the partner companies with an important degree of energy independence, for example, for Transparent Design, Thimm Packaging and Don Pedro the plants provide about 30% of their annual energy needs. At the same time, it contributes to protecting the environment by reducing CO2 emissions by over 10,000 tons per year.

“On the road to climate neutrality, our partners need decentralized, sustainable and, above all, efficient smart solutions. E.ON’s energy infrastructure solutions mean customized offers that meet these requirements. As a partner for heating, cooling, power generation and energy efficiency, our goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and at the same time bring competitive advantages to our partners. We are convinced that strong partnerships are the only way to achieve environmental goals and to create excellent opportunities for economic development for Romania,” says Claudia Griech, general manager of E.ON Energie Romania.

Currently, E.ON Energie Romania has over 40 similar projects underway, the company offering turnkey solutions, designed to meet the needs and consumption profile of customers. E.ON supports companies to become prosumers throughout the entire process, from the evaluation of the place of consumption, the drawing up of the technical project, obtaining the necessary approvals, the installation of the photovoltaic plant and up to the maintenance of the system and the verification of the electrical installation, after the process is completed.

With a lifespan of around 25 years and a payback period of 4-5 years, solar power plants are the most cost-competitive power generation option. The benefits for E.ON’s partners are clear: increasing economic efficiency by reducing electricity costs, better control of these costs by achieving a certain degree of energy independence and meeting your own environmental objectives.

The portfolio of photovoltaic generation projects of E.ON Energie Romania in the non-residential segment included, at the end of 2023, a number of 359 completed projects, their total value exceeding 64 million euros. The total photovoltaic energy production of the plants put into operation is about 85 GWh/year, and CO2 emissions are reduced by about 23,000 tons per year.
