Distribuție Oltenia resumed the tradition of the most coveted competition in the energy field, the Electrician’s Trophy, taking place between May 17 and 18, the stage per company and, in parallel, the contest dedicated to Apprentice Electrician students. Thus, 75 Oltenia Distribution electricians and engineers measured their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in 5 competitive tests, in the company stage.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were won by 15 of the best professionals of Distribuție Oltenia.

The Electrician’s Trophy is the most important professional competition attended by electricians from all electricity distribution companies in Romania.

The event has a long tradition, but it has remained in the attention of employees as an opportunity where they can measure their talent and skill and a good opportunity to get to know your colleagues better from the whole country and learn from their experience at the national stage.

“We are happy to resume the Electrician’s Trophy, a competition that we missed during the pandemic and that we approach every time with great enthusiasm and responsibility. Our electricians and engineers came prepared and eager to reach the higher stages of the competition. The Electrician Apprentices were also involved in their own competition, in a technological and digitalized environment. I congratulate all the participants,” said Eugen Butoarcă, Executive Director of Oltenia Distribution.

In the competition dedicated to Apprentices, 15 of them ranked first at the local stages and thus won their place at the regional stage of the Electrician Apprentice Trophy, a competition that Distribuție Oltenia has been organizing since 2018.

10th grade students from Technological High School no. 1 Alexandria, Astra Pitești Technical High School, Drobeta Turnu Severin Auto Transport High School and Ferdinand 1 Râmnicu Vâlcea High School had to pass the theoretical and the practical test which included making direct current circuits, calculations and electrical quantities.

The practical tests took place in the 110/20 kV DIF Craiova transformer station, in order to create the most authentic experience for Apprentices.
