Decreases for thermo and hydro, growth on wind

Electricity production in thermal power plants decreased by 13.1% in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year to 4.986 billion kWh, hydro power plants decreased by 16% to 2.125 billion kWh, and the of nuclear power plants, of 1.953 billion kWh, was down by 0.9%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics published Friday, according to Agerpres.

On the other hand, the production of wind power plants in the period January – February 2019 was 1.456 billion kWh, up 2.5 million kWh compared to the same period of the previous year, and the solar energy produced in photovoltaic plants was of 155.2 million kWh, up 20.4 million kWh over the corresponding period of 2018.

Electricity resources totaled 11.512 billion kWh, down 731.4 million kWh, compared to the first two months of last year.

Domestic production amounted to 3.346 million toe, down 141.000 to the same period last year, and imports totaled 2.521 million toe.
