The electric buses supplied by New Kopel Car Import, part of SIXT GROUP ROMANIA, are 12 metres long and low-floor. They come with 20 slow charging stations and 5 fast charging stations. The contract was signed in February 2021 and is the second tender won by New Kopel Car Import, after the one in Buzău, where 9 similar electric buses, 3 fast charging stations and 9 slow charging stations were delivered.

The 20 buses were manufactured in BYD’s production facility in Komárom, Hungary, the first BYD plant exclusively for the European market.

BYD’s electric buses are extremely efficient with their high range and charging capabilities, translated into low infrastructure and charging costs, extended battery and system warranty, and regenerative/braking performance. The range of BYD buses includes 8.7-metre, 10.8-metre, 12-metre, 13-metre and articulated 18-metre coaches.

As of 2018, New Kopel Car Import is the importer in Romania of BYD, the largest manufacturer and seller of electric cars and buses worldwide, with over 100,000 electric vehicles sold annually.
