The presence of the Romanian representatives in the ACER management boards constitutes an additional assurance on the fair treatment applied to Romania in its process of integration into the European internal energy market, said Bogdan Chiriţoiu, the President of the Competition Council and member of the Administration Council of the Agency for Cooperation of Energy regulation Authorities (ACER).

Chiriţoiu has been a member of ACER’s Board since November and attended, at the end of January, in a first meeting organized in Ljubljana (Slovenia), at organizations HQs, according to Agerpres.

“I believe that by representing Romania in the leadership of ACER, the agency’s collaboration with the Romanian authorities involved in the energy sector will be intensified, which will allow a closer monitoring of the national electricity and gas markets for the benefit of the consumers. Thus, we can anticipate a positive effect on the regulatory framework, through the development of existing trading instruments at national level, a coordinated development in a regional context at the level of interconnections, as well as an increase in the quality of investigations, carried out by the Competition Council or the Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE),” Chiriţoiu pointed out.
